Trace the leak before choosing a repair
The visible ceiling stain may be away from the entry point. An inspection should consider roof penetrations, flashing, transitions, and damaged roofing, along with the pattern and timing of the leak.
Describe the symptoms
Tell us when the leak appears, whether it changes with wind or rain, and what repairs have already been attempted. Photograph visible stains from a safe area. Keep away from sagging ceilings and water near electrical equipment; arrange urgent help if the area is unsafe.
